Job Description Job Description We are looking for a dedicated
Staff Accountant to join our team in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. This
short-term contract position offers the opportunity to utilize your
accounting expertise in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. As
a vital part of the accounting department, you will play a key role
in maintaining financial accuracy and supporting the organization's
day-to-day operations. This role is required onsite in Tuscaloosa,
AL but open to candidates willing to commute to Tuscaloosa.
Responsibilities: • Perform comprehensive reconciliation of
multiple bank accounts to ensure financial accuracy. • Prepare and
post journal entries to maintain the integrity of financial
records. • Utilize Excel, Workday, and banking platforms to execute
daily accounting tasks. • Ensure compliance with corporate tax
requirements, including sales tax and corporate tax return filings.
• Maintain and update the general ledger to reflect accurate
financial data. • Conduct detailed cash reconciliations to support
financial reporting. • Collaborate with the corporate controller
and other team members to streamline accounting processes. • Adhere
to company policies and procedures while maintaining a high level
of confidentiality. • Assist in other accounting tasks as needed to
support departmental goals. • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or
Finance is preferred not required. • Strong understanding of
debits, credits, and financial transactions. • Proficiency in
preparing journal entries and reconciling bank statements. •
Hands-on experience with accounting software such as Workday and
advanced Excel skills. • Familiarity with corporate tax regulations
and sales tax processes. • Ability to work independently and manage
multiple priorities effectively. • Excellent attention to detail
and organizational skills.
