Overview: The Graduate Nurse in the Neuro Med Surg department
delivers specialized care to patients in both neurological and
medical-surgical environments, particularly focusing on those
affected by strokes and undergoing neurosurgery. Key
responsibilities encompass coordinating care across various
disciplines, ensuring patient confidentiality, and upholding
professional nursing standards. This position mandates an active RN
license, Basic Life Support certification, and the physical
capability to manage nursing tasks that involve patient handling

Position Summary: This role employs the nursing process to deliver
comprehensive patient care. The Graduate Nurse is accountable for
the quality of care provided to assigned patients and assesses the
effectiveness of care delivered by other healthcare providers.
Collaboration with various departments is essential to coordinate
patient care effectively. The position also emphasizes the
importance of maintaining patient rights and safeguarding patient
information. Responsibilities are carried out in alignment with our

Neuro Stroke Center: This unit specializes in the care of stroke
patients, neurological conditions, neurosurgery, and acutely ill
medical patients. Common diagnoses include strokes, seizures,
lumbar laminectomies, spinal cord injuries, and brain tumors. The
unit features two continuous seizure monitoring rooms to provide
tailored treatment for individual needs. Our multidisciplinary team
collaborates closely to ensure exceptional care for our stroke
patients. Qualifications: Education: Must be a graduate of an
accredited registered nursing program. Licensure: Responsible for
obtaining and maintaining a current RN license in the state of
employment, adhering to all state board of nursing regulations.
Certifications: Basic Life Support certification from the American
Heart Association or successful completion of the course within 30
days of hire. Physical Requirements: Ability to regularly push,
pull, or lift up to 50 pounds. Prolonged standing and walking are
required during each shift. Must be able to grip, reach, bend,
