Primary responsibilities and duties are: Reporting to the Vice-President of Business Development (BD), and based in the company's Montgomery, AL office, the Business Development Manager will help the BD team expand the company's business base organically with current customers; develop new business opportunities under existing umbrella contracts; and identify, evaluate and pursue strategic opportunities with new customers and partners. Specifically, the BD Manager shall have the following responsibilities: * Assist in growing revenue by identifying and developing new business opportunities/growth areas while maintaining valuable relationships with current government customers and other contractors. * Visit current customer offices to preserve and strengthen relationships; where possible meet with customer program officers to review the company's performance and explore additional service opportunities. * Ensure the continued growth and success of the company through strategic BD planning, team building, and the development of policies and procedures to instill team collaboration; help ensure the continuity of the company's marketing activities; troubleshoot unsuccessful efforts and analyze patterns of success. * Lead business capture activities in the development of proposal documents for business development opportunities. * Coordinate with Operations Group to prepare technical responses to requests for information, organizational recommendations, and staffing requirements. * Work to develop new business opportunities with various DOD and Federal customers. * Coordinate with other contractors and customers on business development, and staffing activities to ensure effective proposal development and transition into contracts as required in support of subcontract and prime contract responsibilities. * Provide on-going support and expertise to all management personnel, leading and assisting them in establishing and meeting company financial goals and objectives. * Embrace Sumaria's core values and lead a culture where: customers, employees, and partners are treated respectfully; provide quality services, which are reasonably priced and performed IAW regulations; and ensure all organizational functions are equally valued. Minimum Qualifications and/or Skills : * Strong analytical, problem solving, math skills and general finance acumen. * Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as strong organizational and interpersonal skills. * Possess strong attention to detail and ability to review one's own work. * Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. * Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and communicate with a variety of stakeholders. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word & PowerPoint) and Adobe. Familiarity with GovWin and BGov a plus. * US Citizenship required. * Able to secure DoD security clearance at the Secret level Required Education and Experience: * 7+ years of business development experience serving federal government customers. * Track record of experience leading growth in new markets ' whether they be geographies or customer segments. * Bachelor's degree is required, MBA preferred.
