Job Description:
Position Summary:The Avionics Manager is responsible for being
the subject matter expert and main point of contact for avionic
Installations, modifications, and labor estimates. They are also
responsible for managing the assembling of electrical equipment and
avionics installation, testing, and troubleshooting support for
aircraft. The Avionics Manager will be required to read and
interpret blueprints and instructions and understand assembly of
parts, proper use of tooling and equipment, and theory of how
electronic components together.Key Responsibilities:
- Work with Procurement for material acquisition
- We are a 135-charter operation with an FBO
-
- Jet turbine installation is the key.
- Review and assess project work scopes to assist in the quoting
process and participate in customer negotiations
- Develop and nurture relationships with dealership
representatives
- Avionics management, Teambuilding, Supervision
- Read and interpret drawings, diagrams, blueprints,
specifications, work orders or reports
- Maintain clean work area
- Staff Development and Training Technical Support
- Project Management to include Gantt Charts/IMS (or applicable
scheduling software) and Change Order Documents as required to
maintain schedule
- Ability to Inspect wiring installations, assemblies and
circuits
- Ability to Assemble electrical or electronic systems or support
structures and install components, units, subassemblies, wiring or
assembly casings, using rivets, bolts, soldering or micro-welding
equipment
- Ability and knowledge to perform avionic system
installations/modifications and train others
- Able to Troubleshoot and Correct defects in accordance with
established processes
- Understanding of air data testing, continuity testing, system
testing of avionics systems, navigation/communication systemsSkills
& Abilities:

- A&P license
- Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree
(GED) is required; some college or degree in management is
preferred.
- Experience: minimum of 5-10 years' experience working with
avionics systems including experience in blueprint reading.
- Certifications/Licenses: J-STD, 620 Certificated and/or AMT or
Avionics certification preferred.
- Computer Skills: Basic computer skills using Excel, Microsoft
Outlook, and Word required; Project management software
