From locomotives, transit, freight cars and engines, to tracks, signals and advanced technology, we ensure customers can count on us to meet their needs.Learn how we keep our customers rolling by following us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn, and by visiting .Education / Training:--- Relevant manufacturing/engineering degree is preferred.Job Title:Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager $2500 Sign on BonusCity:MontgomeryKey Job Elements:--- Embrace and drive a total safety culture throughout theMoW organization;--- Performs EHS training, including SafeStart/SafeTrack,Emergency Action Plan drills, New-Hire Orientation &Mentoring System, Daily/Weekly Toolbox Topics, andSpecialized training such as forklifts, aerial lifts, cranes,etc.;--- Identifies existing and potential EHS problems andparticipates in developing corrective measures;--- Ensures compliance with organization and governmentEHS standards (i.e., OSHA, ADEM);--- Develops procedures to assure continuing compliancewith regulations and organization standards;--- Maintains data in EHS management systems (P.R.E.S.S).--- Handles regulatory inspections/visits;--- Completes reports for submission to EPA, OSHA or otherregulatory agencies;--- Conducts thorough accident investigations, propertydamages, with follow up and corrective action;--- Conducts required environmental tests, analysis, andobservations;--- Ensures environmental discharges are within permitrequirements;--- Completes sampling of various environmental media (air,water, and waste);--- Collects, labels, packages, and ships samples forlaboratory analysis;--- Develops injury/incident updates;--- Completes Self-Audits, J.S.A.'s, P.P.E. assessments, etc,;--- Inventory, purchase, and distribute P.P.E;--- Issues and oversees Hot Work Permits;--- Completes Safety Program Updates & Safety BulletinUpdates;--- Reviews/ and verifies Lock out/Tag out procedures;--- Maintains accurate inventory of Safety Data Sheets(S.D.S.);--- Completes contractor audits (Browz and On-SiteAgreements);--- Conducts/Assists in Emergency Action Plan drills;--- Issues permits for live electrical work;--- Completes Ergonomic Assessments, Workplace ViolenceAssessments, Respiratory Fit Tests, and RespiratorInspections;--- Communicates with Health Services concerningincidents, worker's comp cases, Return to Work, drugtesting, physicals, Audiometric testing, and Respiratory-related requirements;--- Staff member of facility management team;--- Prepare and present comprehensive safety updatePowerPoint presentations at monthly plant widecommunication meetings;--- Update safety KPI dashboard and communicateimprovement initiatives;--- Provide oversight and direction to the plant SafetyCouncil;--- Primary contact for site security; maintain respectivedoor key register;--- Coordinates property management services, includingyard/tree maintenance and contract housekeepingservices;--- Conducts and arrange customer site facility tours;--- Other duties as assigned.Qualifications and Experience:--- Minimum of 5 years experience in safety andenvironmental field preferred;--- Understanding of manufacturing andprocurement/supply chain;--- Must be knowledgeable in the interpretation andapplication of CFR Title 29 - Labor as it relates to themanufacturing sector;--- Proven experience conducting EHS compliance;--- Solid understanding of safety practices and ability toconduct safety training on an ongoing basis;--- Effective communication (verbal and written) skills amust;--- Demonstrated ability to work effectively at all levels,including company management, customers, staff,contractors, vendors, and site personnel;--- Strong communication skills, both written and oral;--- Strong presenter to large audience groups;--- Proficient computer experience in Word, Excel, andPowerPoint;--- Must have valid driver's license.EEO:Equal Opportunity Employer - Race/Color/Sex/Religion/National Origin/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity/Vets/DisabilitiesBenefits:Progress Rail offers an excellent total compensation package, including competitive salary, paid time off for vacation and holidays, 401(k) plan with company match, medical/dental/vision/life/disability insurance and flexible spending accounts.
