Job Description:
Provide safe, high-quality patient care as a physician on the
emergency department (ED) team at Vaughan Regional Medical Center
in Selma, Alabama. Vaughan Regional Medical Center's emergency
department serves Dallas and surrounding counties 24 hours, seven
days a week, treating more than 28,000 patients annually. The
17-bed ED is staffed with experienced physicians and nurses
specifically trained in emergency medicine. Four of the 17 beds are
on fast track. Qualified physician coverage is provided during peak
hours. There is 31 hours of daily physician coverage and 18 hours
of midlevel coverage daily. The admission rate is 14% with 25%
pediatrics seen. Some specialty back up coverage is provided.
The ED was recently renovated and expanded, a $2.5 million dollar
investment in the Selma facility. Renovations include an additional
2,500 square feet to the existing ED, two new state-of-the-art
trauma rooms, as well as new and expanded waiting, triage and
registration areas. A new front entrance canopy area was also added
for patient convenience.
