Position Overview: The Occupational Therapist is responsible for
delivering rehabilitative services to patients within a skilled
nursing environment, adhering to physician referrals and relevant
regulations. This position entails creating and executing
occupational therapy treatment strategies, supervising support
staff, and working alongside interdisciplinary teams. Applicants
must hold a valid license, be certified by NBCOT, have experience
in post-acute care, and possess strong skills in documentation and
patient interaction. We are seeking a PRN Occupational Therapist
Situated approximately 30 minutes from downtown Denver, our
organization is a 5-star rated skilled nursing facility with a
rehabilitation team boasting over 40 years of combined expertise.
Position Summary The Occupational Therapist provides direct
rehabilitative care in occupational therapy to patients based on
physician referrals, in compliance with all relevant laws,
regulations, and organizational standards. Education, Experience,
and Licensure Requirements NBCOT certification required upon
hiring; renewal is optional thereafter. Graduate from an accredited
occupational therapy program (BSOT or MSOT). Must be currently
registered and licensed in the relevant state, maintaining an
active license in good standing throughout employment. Preferred:
One (1) year of experience in post-acute care or a similar setting.
CPR certification required upon hiring or to be obtained during
orientation; must remain current throughout employment. Specific
Job Requirements Engage in community health initiatives/projects as
appropriate. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email
communication. Collaborate with patients, families, and support
departments to effectively address patient needs. Exhibit proper
body mechanics at all times. Make independent decisions when
necessary. Familiar with practices, procedures, and regulations
governing operations in a post-acute care facility. Implement and
interpret departmental programs, goals, objectives, policies, and
procedures. Demonstrate proficiency in all competency areas,
including patient rights, safety, and sanitation. Maintain
professional relationships with colleagues, vendors, and others.
Ensure confidentiality of all proprietary and confidential
information. Adhere to organizational policies, including those
related to harassment and compliance. Exhibit integrity and
professionalism by following the organization’s Code of Conduct and
completing required compliance training. Essential Functions
Implement occupational treatment plans for patients (e.g.,
activities of daily living). Set, evaluate, and adjust realistic,
measurable, and functional goals. Supervise and assess care
provided by Occupational Therapy Assistants, Rehabilitation Aides,
and students. Document care accurately and in a timely manner.
Utilize therapy software effectively and accurately. Provide
excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude towards
patients. Assist in the safe evacuation of patients when necessary.
Demonstrate reliable and consistent attendance. Employ reasoning
skills and sound judgment in all situations. Communicate
effectively and collaborate within an interdisciplinary team.
Engage in physical activities such as sitting, standing, bending,
lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, walking, reaching, and moving
intermittently during work hours. Read, write, speak, and
