Job Description Job Description Full-Time Night RN Position in OBGYN/Med Surg This full-time night shift role is focused on Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Medical/Surgical nursing, delivering direct care to patients of all ages. Key responsibilities encompass patient evaluation, care planning, collaboration with support departments, and managing care for individuals undergoing gynecological surgeries, bariatric operations, and obstetric complications. Engage in direct patient care activities for diverse age groups, which includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Oversee and coordinate patient care efforts with ancillary departments to enhance patient comfort and care quality. Operate within the nursing scope of practice, adhering to established guidelines, the organization’s goals, the Philosophy of the Sisters of Mercy, the relevant State Nurse Practice Act, the Code of Professional and Business Ethics, and the Co-Worker Code of Conduct. Position Overview: The 5B unit is a 32-bed facility that caters to various gynecological surgical procedures, bariatric weight loss surgeries, colon resections, and other minor colon surgeries, along with general medical patients. The unit also addresses various gynecological conditions, gynecological oncology, obstetric complications, and mother/baby couplets. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:5-6, while PCA-to-patient ratios are 1:6-8. All staff members work 12-hour shifts from 0630 to 1900 and 1830 to 0700, including alternating weekends and holidays.
