Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: OR - Operating Room - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 03/02/2026 - Duration: 8 weeks - 40 hours per week - Shift: 10 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel /n Job Description/n American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room role focused on general and trauma specialties at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring an active AL or Compact RN license and strong trauma background. /n /n Responsibilities/n - Position is for the general and trauma specialty in a hospital OR, with backup to Ortho/Neuro/ENT teams - Operates in a 15-bed OR unit, with 2 CVOR rooms available - Patient population is primarily adult with minimal pediatric cases, typically orthopedic - Direct 1:1 patient care is maintained - Uses Cerner EMR system, Plum 360 IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Spacelabs monitors - Shift is 10-hour days starting at 6:30 AM, totaling 40 hours per week - Rotation includes on-call shifts: 1 weekday on-call and 1 weekend per month, with a 30-minute response time required - Holiday coverage is expected per contract - Floating is not required - RN circulates in diverse specialty cases, including trauma, neuro, ortho, and robotics - Team support includes an OR assistant, desk assistant, charge nurse, and service line team leaders - Green scrubs are provided for staff use - Parking is available in a deck structure - First-time travelers are considered if they meet the experience requirement /n /n Requirements/n - Active AL or Compact RN license required - BLS and ACLS certifications required - Minimum 2 years recent OR experience - Strong circulating experience in trauma (excluding burns), neuro, vascular, ENT, ortho including total joints, gyn, endovascular, urology, robotics, plastics, breast, and eyes - Robotics experience with systems such as DaVinci XI or Mazor highly preferred - Experience with Cerner EMR required - Must be willing to take buddy call during 2-week day shift orientation - No local candidates within a 60-mile radius allowed - Former perm staff must have a 6-month gap before consideration as a traveler /n Benefits/n - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts /n American Traveler Job ID P-661758.
