Overview US Citizenship and Residency Completion Required to Apply This position is located at Martin Army Community Hospital, Fort Benning, GA. Fort Benning is located in the "Tri-Community" comprised of Columbus, Georgia; Fort Benning, Georgia; and Phoenix City, Alabama. For more information, please visit: Responsibilities As a Physician (Obsterics/Gynecology) you will: Serves as an expert and consultant in Obstetrics and Gynecology with emphasis on ambulatory care. Is responsible for examination, diagnosis, and treatment of the full range of OB/GYN patients. Incumbent should have expertise in both abdominal and trans-vaginal ultrasonography as pertains to ambulatory medicine. Incumbent must be able to utilize and perform screening and diagnostic modalities for OB/GYN malignancies (biopsies and colposcopy), as well as provide primary preventive care and education for women seen in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic. Incumbent should be able to evaluate both functional and dysfunctional problems related to the female pelvis to include masses, pain, urological complaints, bleeding abnormalities, hormonal dysfunction, and infections. Incumbent must be able to evaluate emergency obstetrical problems and subsequently treat or appropriately refer the same. Perform highly responsible duties in the advanced examination and treatment of patients referred for consultation. Based on professional ability conducts thorough evaluations of patients presentingmedical management problems. Evaluates both laboratory and clinical findings and providesappropriate treatment and follow-up care for patients. Must be able to collaborate with specialists inother areas on interrelated problem. Admits an discharges patients as required. Works in Labor anddelivery for the delivery of infants. Will be required to handle emergencies and perform on-call duties. Participates in the medical education training program within the department. Guides, instructs,and trains residents, interns, medical students, and other professional personnel as required inambulatory OB-GYN care. Lectures to department personnel on aspects of ambulatory OB-GYN carewhen requested. Attends departmental and service specific conferences and lectures. Maintains current knowledgeof obstetrics and gynecology through annual continuing medical education. Qualifications US Citizenship required Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology Candidates must have a permanent, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
