Job Title: Operating Room Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: OR Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Monday through Friday Hours per Shift: 8 or 10 hours Experience: 4 years recent OR RN experience in a hospital setting License: Active RN license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS required Must-Have: - Experience in OR Circulator with Endoscopy - Familiarity with Orthopedic and General OR specialties - Preferred experience in ENT and GYN Description: The Operating Room Nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills and scientific judgment. Leadership is essential in anticipating and planning for patient care in the operating room. As a member of the surgical team, the RN collaborates with Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, and other personnel. Patient care in the operating room is provided according to regulatory standards and policies. Responsibilities include ensuring supplies and the timeliness of cases. The RN communicates with families and updates physician preference cards. Scrubbing and assisting physicians during surgical cases is required.
