A clinical nursing opportunity is available in the Operating Room specializing in Neuro/Spine procedures at a well-equipped medical center in Trussville, AL. This contract role offers a structured day shift schedule and the chance to contribute to complex surgical care in a dynamic environment using advanced technology and EMR systems. Location Overview Situated near Birmingham, AL, this healthcare facility provides comprehensive surgical services, including neuro, vascular, orthopedic, and maxillofacial specialties. The Main OR features 24-bed capacity with one-to-one patient ratios, ensuring attentive perioperative care. The centers focus on innovation is reflected in its use of cutting-edge equipment and Cerner EMR software for streamlined clinical documentation. Key Responsibilities Deliver perioperative nursing care focused on Neuro/Spine surgery cases Ensure patient safety, monitor vitals and maintain sterile field in the OR Collaborate with multidisciplinary surgical teams during procedures Utilize Cerner EMR for accurate patient records and care coordination Adhere to hospital infection control and dress code policies (ceil blue or royal blue scrubs; no fleece, hoods, t-shirts, sweatshirts, or nail polish) Participate in on-call rotation with even distribution coordinated by management Qualifications and Experience Active Registered Nurse license with at least 2 years of perioperative experience Specialized knowledge in Neuro/Spine surgical nursing essential Preferred exposure to Vascular, Da Vinci robotic systems, Orthopedics, and Maxillofacial cases BLS certification required Ability to work day shift hours (6:00 AM to 4:30 PM) and maintain weekend on-call availability Schedule 36 guaranteed hours per week Shift: Day (0600 - 1630) Weekend on-call rotation This contract position offers the opportunity to expand clinical expertise within a progressive surgical environment.
