Kelly Engineering is currently recruiting for a (Direct Hire)
(Mechanical Engineer) job located in Montgomery, AL.
The Sr. Mechanical Engineer is is responsible for the design,
development and overall realization of a new product, and
sustaining engineering of existing product(s).
You will lead cross-functional core teams for all phases of
new product development. Direct all phases of program
development from inception to completion of a commercialized
product, and launch through the lifecycle of the product. The
programs managed by the Senior Engineers represent critical
strategic imperatives and are global in both scale and scope, and
have direct visibility to senior management. The recommendations
from the Senior Engineers and Core Team have significant long-term
impact on the division affecting the financial, employee and
customer view of the company. The role is closely linked to
the Product Supervisor of the business line.
What you will do
Perform full range of engineering duties and project assignments
based on general instructions and guidance from supervisor or lead
engineers. Daily production support for assigned product
Represent Current Product Engineering as a core team member
on NPD and/or Sponsor Team projects
Design, develop, document and execute mechanical and/or
electro-mechanical solutions for components and assemblies to meet
company and departmental goals.
Perform analysis and resolve issues using problem solving
techniques to develop new and innovative solutions for our
Use mechanical engineering principles of statics, dynamics,
thermodynamics, heat transfer, hydraulics, and material science to
develop design solutions for medical devices.
Use 2D and 3D CAD software as well as other analysis software
such as FEA (Finite Element Analysis)
Solves complex mechanical engineering problems by applying a
broad knowledge of engineering or scientific principles
Determines technical feasibility of new product concepts
Provide technical support to all functional areas of Operations
and serve as liaison to Manufacturing for design related product
Perform analysis on returned product and perform investigations
on Customer complaints
Provide Project Management resource for Sponsor Team and/or
appropriately sized projects for product enhancements
Train and mentor Engineers and Designers in Engineering
Participate on Lean and Continuous Improvement activities

What you need to be successful
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
7+ years Engineering experience within R&D, Assembly
and/or Manufacturing. Must have Industry experience.
3+ years experience in Current Product Engineering
Minimum 5 years of experience working with a CPE/R&D
Minimum 5 Years Capital Equipment Experience (Defense,
Aerospace, Medical Devices, Appliances)
Experience leading R&D or CPE Teams in projects from initial
concept, through development and verification / validation testing,
and into Manufacturing. Ability to balance customer, manufacturing,
business and regulatory requirements to expedite launch of the
right product to market.
Experience successfully managing programs through stage gate
methodologies. Track record of managing programs to schedule and

performance, quality, time and cost; strong planning and
organization skills required.
