Job Description:

The Lead, Process Control Engineering has responsibility for systems optimization, compliance, personnel safety and technician skill development relative to plant process control systems. He/she assumes a leadership role with regard to control systems, equipment specification and maintenance, proper operation, technician development, troubleshooting and repair to achieve or exceed reliability targets. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Identifies losses, and develops countermeasures to eliminate them, for plant process systems such as: Bulk Powder handling, Liquid Ingredient Storage and Metering, Batch Reactors, Pumps, Heat Exchangers, Jar/Bottle Fillers, Packaging Conveyors, Belt Pasteurizers, Cappers, Labelers, Inspection Systems, De-Palletizers, and Palletizers. Serves as troubleshooting resource for plant control systems (FTView, FTBatch, PLC) and is a key member of the plant technical leadership team. Builds and maintains a sustainable process control onboarding system for plant Process Engineers, Interns and Area Leaders, as well as, ongoing coaching and development of process control technical skills for these peers. Owns Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) Key Element 3.03 Over pressurization of Gases & Liquids for the plant. Supports the plant power outage recovery plan. Primary plant resource for process control standards and owns technical documentation for these systems. Provides expertise in the design and implementation of process automation applications, such as control strategies, HMI design, MES applications and KPI development. Works with Engineering IS team to maintain and update plant Historical database standards and accuracy (Rockwell Historian/GE Operations Hub). Works with Plant Quality Team to lead the automation of key Critical Control Point (CCP) database records. Works closely with Engineering and Operations leaders on selection and installation/start-up of new equipment. Becomes the technical expert on new equipment and insures the training of others with regard to control systems. Serves as Project Manager for Initiatives ranging from field instrument focus to complete capital projects. Provides support throughout other parts of the plant as needed on a daily basis. SUCCESS CRITERIA Achieve and improve scorecard results for plant. Role model, both technically and from a leadership perspective. Monitors progress of plant Process Engineers and plant technicians and provides training/coaching for their qualification. Meet or exceed process reliability targets. Successfully identifies losses and leads effort to eliminate. SELECTION CRITERIA Education Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering is required Experience Minimum of 6 years of relevant controls experience CPG or pharmaceutical experience is preferred Demonstrated knowledge of CPG processing systems, including Batch Reactors, Pumping, Heat Exchangers, Jar/Bottle Filling, Packaging Conveyor Control, Belt Pasteurization, Capping, Labelling, Inspection Systems, Depalletizing Systems, Palletizing Systems Other Strong troubleshooting skills Strong knowledge of process control hardware, instrumentation and software including FTView, FTBatch and PLC platforms. Working knowledge of NFPA guidelines Minimum of 2-4 years operations experience ideal Excellent inter-personal skills Mechanical and electrical experience in the food industry is preferred Experience in manufacturing maintenance with delivered results with Maintenance Systems Experience leading the installation of equipment in food manufacturing environment Ability to work and manage within a team environment Strong organizational, critical thinking and problem solving skills Effective presentation, verbal, and written communication skills Self-motivated and can work independently with minimal direct supervision Experience leading, teaching or managing others effectively Able to perform moderate activity including but not limited to, significant time spent on manufacturing floor and some physical work on equipment Posted 2 Days Ago Full time 106887 About Us The J.M.
