User Experience & Design Remote, California

Description

American Specialty Health Incorporated is seeking an UX Design Intern to join our Consumer Technology-UXD(CRU) department. This position will gain hands-on experience with Design Thinking and Lean UX process and principles to create high quality digital experiences.

Remote Worker Considerations:

The safety of our employees, both current and future, is ASH's highest priority. At this time, most of our employees are working remotely due to the current COVID-19 pandemic. Candidates who are selected for this position will be trained remotely and must be able to work from home in a designated work area with company-provided technology equipment.

Responsibilities

Work as a part of a team of UX Designers and UX Architects Support customer research to validate designs and discover new insights.
Assist in planning and executing user testing/usability (remote and in person).
Collaborate with developers in a SCRUM environment on a day-to-day basis.
Assist in authoring and editing video content.

Qualifications

Minimum 6 months' experience required.
Experience with design or research in an academic, hobbyist or commercial environment.
Experience with sketching or creating digital art/illustrations.
Experience conducting or facilitating research (e.g. market, competitive, usability, enthographic, contextual inquiry).
Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to develop user empathy and advocate for the user, understanding the user's behavior, attitudes, and emotions.
Support and collaborate with development teams during development of products on a day-to-day basis.
Possess a strong passion for UX and/or Design Thinking practices.

Mobility

Primarily sedentary, able to sit for long periods of time with ability to travel within and outside the facility.

Physical Requirements

Ability to speak, see and hear other personnel and/or objects. Ability to communicate both in verbal and written form. Ability to travel within the facility. Capable of using a telephone and computer keyboard. Ability to lift up to 10 lbs.

Environmental Conditions

Within facility, normal office conditions, including lighting and ventilation. Minor noise from conversations and general office equipment (telephone, printer, etc.). When required to travel outside the facility, usual weather, traffic and related conditions are applicable. This job posting is not applicable in CO
