We understand how to work with and support multiple stakeholders to aid in the development and implementation of national policies, strategies, and doctrine.Summary:USAARL'sresearch focuses on blunt, blast, and accelerative injury and protection; crew survival in military helicopters and combat vehicles; enroute care environment; human operator health and performance in complex systems; and sensory performance, injury, and protection. We are looking for a Sensory Scientist to join our team. Essential Job Functions: The candidate shall be knowledgeable in a relevant field of sensory neuroscience (e.g., anatomy, vision, audition, or vestibular science) and have experience working in a research laboratory. The candidate shall have demonstrated their ability to independently plan, execute, analyze, and report on their research through their graduate dissertation. The candidate shall have demonstrated their subject matter expertise in one of three neurosensory areas ( anatomy, vision, audition, or vestibular science) with notable publications in sensory physiology or psychophysical studies that have elucidated a functional or descriptive nature of an underlying mechanism of sensory processing. In addition, the candidate shall be held in high esteem by his peers as witnessed by presenting original work at national and/or international meetings and by chairing and/or co-chairing sessions in his field at these same meetings. Requires experience managing a research laboratory, including technicians and other junior scientists. Requires experience in working with Human Test Subjects and Human Factors researchThe candidate shall be expected to execute their assigned projects, as a Principal Investigator, by developing protocols, completing data collection, data analyses, and report generation. Requires excellent written and oral communication skills. The candidate is expected to write proposals, reports, and publications, and present their findings in meetings. ?Also, the candidate shall perform a variety of complicated tasks. ?Education, License and Certification Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Science with a focus onHuman Anatomy & PhysiologyMinimum 3 years of related experience Possess and maintain the appropriate licensure, certification, or credentialsBe in good standing and under no restrictions with the state licensure board in any state in which a license is held or has been held Preferred Experience: Master's Degree Preferred Experience working with Human Test Subjects and Human Factors research
