Job DescriptionKimber Mfg., Inc.Job Description Job Title: Material Planner Expeditor Location: Troy, ALClassification: Non-exemptGrade: HourlyDepartment: PlanningReports To: Planning Supervisor_____________________________________________________________________________________ SUMMARY/OBJECTIVEThe Material Planner Expeditor will perform specific tasks for the Shipping and Warehouse departments. The Material Utility Technician will be responsible for ensuring part availability for each assigned product line at the beginning of each shift as well as the repair process on a line. In addition, this position is required to meet production goals as well as maintain the accuracy of inventory records in the ERP system. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform all assigned material handling operations
  • Fill material requests by picking parts from the warehouse and moving them to assigned location
  • Move non-conforming parts to proper holding area
  • Troubleshoots fixtures
  • Performs all lower level operations
  • Maintain control and inventory accuracy of serialized product
  • Ensure material is properly tagged and adjustments are made as needed
  • Train other employees on processes and procedures of department
  • Maintain accuracy of the parts inventory records by entering inventory transactions in the ERP system and performing and reconciling cycle counts
  • Expedite parts from Production, Purchasing, QC and other Kimber Warehouses
  • Work with Planning, Engineering and QC to control inventory for ECNs, testing and recalls
  • This position works with internal contacts in order to accomplish the objective such as Assembly, Compliance, Engineering, Inventory Control, Planning, Production, Purchasing, QC and Warehouse
    • Complete other duties as assigned by managerSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.       • Proper material handling and inventory control in a manufacturing environment
      • Maintain accurate cycle counting
      • Cross functional team builder/player with high levels of professionalism, integrity, and enthusiasm
      • Must be able to work accurately and efficiently in a fast work environment that has the potential to change due to regulatory and business needs
      • Need to be detail oriented and highly organized with the ability to multi-task
      • Experience working independently with little supervision
      • Ability to train peers and lower level operators
      • Experience performing computerized inventory transactions
      • Excellent communication skills both verbal and writtenEDUCATION/EXPERIENCERequired:
        • High School Diploma or GEDPreferred:
          • Vocational/Technical Degree
          • Lean manufacturing experienceREASONING ABILITYThis position requires various reasoning abilities in order to be successful such as:
            • Ability to collect and document data
            • Ability to follow written and oral instructions
            • Ability to perform complex and varied tasks
            • Ability to perform simple, repetitive tasks for an extended period of timeCOMPUTER SKILLS Required knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word using MS Windows platform. MS PowerPoint and MS Access experience is a plus. Familiarity utilizing email, ERP and Computerized Inventory System. OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIESAttendance is an essential job requirement defined as having regular, consistent, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance including the ability to work regular hours and shifts, overtime before and after shifts and on weekends.
