University at Montgomery invites applications from qualified
candidates for the Assistant Professor or Assistant Clinical and
Academic Coach position.The qualified candidate will be responsible
for classroom and clinical instruction.In addition, will serve as
the Academic Coach to support the success and persistence of
students in the School of Nursing at AUM . The Academic Coach will
develop and implement a cohesive and progressive program to
introduce methods for improving critical thinking, reading
retention, application of knowledge, note-taking,
studying/reviewing, learning for life, and test taking for NCLEX
-RN style questions. The Academic Coach will collaborate with
faculty to identify at-risk students and promote intentional
academic pathways. This individual will use best practices for
academic coaching and working collaboratively with faculty;
demonstrate commitment to diversity and inclusion, have excellent
interpersonal and communication skills- written and verbal, be
student centered and have the ability to work independently and
handle multiple tasks.Duties and responsibilities for this position
include the following: Meeting with identified students to assess
individual needs; Collaboratively develop an individualized plan
for success; Meet with students one-on-one as necessary; Offer
group activities to facilitate learning. This may include but is
not limited to: Study Skills, Test Taking Skills, Time Management,
Stress Management, Sample Test Questions Connect students with
other resources as needed The successful candidate should possess
the following knowledge, skills, and abilities: Knowledge and
insights gained from the exploration of his/her area of
specialization. Ability to communicate to professional peers.
Ability to perform successfully the professional duties assigned.
Ability to engage in scholarship and research. Ability to
demonstrate academic growth. Minimum Qualifications:Registered
Nurse with an unencumbered nursing license in the state of
AlabamaAt least two years' experience in clinical nursing, prefer
medical-surgical nursing backgroundExperience with teaching,
mentoring, advising, counseling and/or providing student services
in a higher education settingWhile this position is open until
