Description: Position Overview The Technician II, Lab position is
responsible for assisting with the collection and testing of raw
materials and finished products. Key Responsibilities
- Perform activities associated with the collection, preparation
and testing of samples.
- Document test results and identify issues or concerns. Provide
basic recommendations or escalate for resolution.
- Document and report finished product meets prescribed
standards.
- Assist in calibration of analytical instrumentation; maintain
associated documentation.
- Monitor, test and assist in the repair and maintenance of
equipment and environmental systems, if applicable. What is
expected of you and others at this level
- Has developed proficiency in a range of processes or procedures
through job-related training and considerable on-the-job
experience
- Completes a variety of atypical assignments
- Works within defined processes and procedures or methodologies
and may help determine the appropriate approach for new
assignments
- Works with a limited degree of supervision
- Acts as an informal resource for colleagues with less
experience Minimum Qualifications & Skills
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required, Associate's
Degree preferred
- 3-5 years' relevant experience required
- Working knowledge of laboratory procedures and automated
laboratory equipment (HPLC, GC)
- Proficiency in spreadsheets and data manipulation
- Knowledge and proficiency in the handling of hazardous
materials is preferred Physical Requirements and Working
Environment
- Working conditions include laboratory work as well as office
work
- Must be able to sit/stand for an extended period of time
- Exposure to dust, chemicals, hazardous materials etc.This job
