Transient Maintenance Supervisor MAX****** Job Details Location: Maxwell Reports To Position: Program Manager Disclosure This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company. Position Summary Directs the activities and administration of the Transient Alert (TA) work center. Performs all duties within established safety polices, guidelines and practices, including the wearing of personal protective equipment. Must have valid state driver license and ability to drive on the airfield. Must have Secret clearance or be able to obtain Secret clearance. A & P License or equivalent military training required. Major Job Activities Description % of Time Spent - Supervises the activities of TA in accordance with guidance provided by Airfield Operations Department Manager. 100% - Responsible for providing complete arrival services for transient AC to include ground handling, marshaling, installing safety pins, inspecting brakes, inserting chocks and protective covers, grounding, placing ladders and staircases, and assisting aircrew as necessary 20% - Responsible for the successful implementation of the Quality Program within TA 10% - Responsible for refueling/defueling and providing gaseous oxygen to transient AC 5% - Responsible for performing departure services to include: visual safety of flight inspections, aircrew assistance, removing chocks and safety pins, marshalling AC from parking 10% - Responsible for developing and maintaining procedures related to aircraft hijacking and theft, and Quick Reaction Checklists 5% - Responsible for recovering damaged AC in area of responsibility 5% - Responsible for immediate response to Inflight and Ground Emergencies 5% - Responsible for maintenance and delivery of ground support equipment to aircraft as required 10% - Responsible for FOD prevention within area of responsibility 10% - Responsible for managing manpower consistent with operations and budget constraints 10% - Perform other duties as assigned in accordance with contractual, functional and mission requirements. 10% Material & Equipment Directly Used - Computer, phone, pilot to dispatch radio, Land Mobile radio, TA light truck and tow vehicles, AGE equipment, FOD mitigation equipment, aircraft wash equipment, CTK tools Minimum Qualifications Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required. Education/Experience Requirements Military aviation maintenance technician to 7 Level or greater. WorkCenter supervisor experience. Experience in working schedules, documentation requirements for aircraft maintenance, and quality programs. Graduate of military technical schools and upgrade training equivalent to 7 Level USAF or greater or A & P License College or University degree preferred. High School or GED Required Specific Experience Area of Experience Years of Experience Comments Military aviation maintenance technician to 7 Level or greater. 5 Supervisor/Manager. Additional WorkCenter supervisor experience 2 Skills - USAF aircraft maintenance experience preferred due to required adherence to numerous AFIs and Technical Manuals. - Excellent communication and people skills. - Computer skills desirable. Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized. This factor is important if the amount and kind of climbing required exceeds that required for ordinary locomotion. Occasional Balancing. Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling and walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces. This factor is important if the amount of balancing exceeds that needed for ordinary locomotion and maintenance of body equilibrium. Occasional Stooping. Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full motion of the lower extremities and back muscles. Occasional Kneeling. Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees. Occasional Crouching. Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine. Occasional Crawling. Moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet. Occasional Reaching. Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Occasional Standing. Particularly for sustained periods of time. Occasional Walking. Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another. Occasional Pushing. Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward. Occasional Pulling. Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion. Occasional Lifting. Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires substantial use of upper extremities and back muscles. Occasional Fingering. Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling. Occasional Grasping. Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm. Occasional Feeling. Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips. Occasional Talking. Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly. Frequent Hearing. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound. Frequent Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Frequent Physical Requirements Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Visual Acuity The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.
